Minister of Finance Angelovska: Public financial reform is intensified

16th September 2019, Skopje - Public financial reform is being intensified. The new Organic Budget Law is expected for be finalized by the end of 2019. This was underlined at today's Fourth Dialogue for Public Financial Management Reforms in the Ministry of Finance, chaired by Minister of Finance Nina Angelovska.


10th September 2019, Skopje - Schools, kindergartens, local roads, photovoltaic systems, water treatment plant, and improvement of the irrigation systems are only part of the 135 capital projects in the total amount of Denar 1.3 billion realized through the Municipal Services Improvement Project - MSIP in the rural areas of 78 municipalities throughout the country. Projects have been realized within EU IPA grant, with World Bank support.

New conditions within "Buy a House, Buy a Flat” Project will stimulate the sale of flats

Skopje, 21st August 2019 (MIA) - Construction Chamber of Macedonia supports the "Buy a House, Buy a Flat” Project at the beginning of its promotion, believing that the new conditions will additionally encourage the sale of new flats for the young population. Growth of the construction sector as regards building is also underpinned by building new flats, keeping the existing and generating new jobs, thus contributing to growth of the overall economy.

Agreements for construction of streets, water supply, procurement of machinery, signed in 12 municipalities

20th August 2019, Skopje - Today, Denar 165 million was made available to 12 municipalities through the Municipal Services Improvement Project -MSIP, being implemented by Ministry of Finance with World Bank support. Funds will be used for construction of local streets, water supply, renovation of kindergarten, procurement of machinery for construction of Skate Park.

Elezi at UNDP workshop: Better living conditions in municipalities by making investments in the regional development

14th August 2019, Skopje - Deputy Minister of Finance Shiret Elezi attended the workshop for creating municipal sustainable development index, organized within the Project “Building Municipal Capacity for Project Implementation". Workshop was organized by UNDP and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

What was stressed at the event was that strategic documents are being prepared by the Ministry of Local Government, aimed at regional development for the next ten years.

VAT refund of EUR 236.4 million for the companies in the first seven months

5th August 2019, Skopje - More than Denar 14.5 billion or EUR 236.4 million was injected in the business sector in the first half of the year, though regular and non-selective VAT refund towards the companies. In line with the data of the Ministry of Finance, VAT refund towards the companies, as of July inclusive, was higher by around 14.5% compared to last year.

Elezi - Ramadani:  Fresh EUR 16 million favourable EIB loans for SMEs next week

26th July 2019, Skopje - Second tranch favourable loans for SMEs from the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the amount of EIR 16 million will be disbursed at the beginning of next week. The funds will be used to support projects of 53 SMEs, Deputy Minister of Finance, Shiret Elezi, and Acting Chief Operating Officer of the Development Bank of North Macedonia, Veland Ramadani, pointed out.
